For many people, studying in a face to face classroom setting, is not always a feasible option – usually due to time or location constraints. For this reason, Success Training Academy offers most of our courses via distance learning as well as face to face (or a blend of both). Distance learning means you will have the printed course materials posted out to you, to complete from home, in your own time. This can be a very convenient, and effective way to complete your studies.
The main benefit of distance learning study, is the flexibility of self-paced learning, however you will need discipline, determination and self-motivation. One of the best ways to ensure this works for you, is to create a weekly schedule for yourself, allocating set times for your studies – minimise distractions, and stick to the times you have set. You should also make sure that your training provider has support tools and resources available for you to access.
We do, however, find that some students discover along the way, that they may not necessarily be best suited to distance learning methods, or may just need some extra assistance to guide them in completing particular components of their course. In order to support these students through their journey with STA, we now offer optional 2-day TAE Add-on Workshops, that cover the learning aspect of the 4 Assessment units from the TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training & Assessment qualification. So, for those students who have chosen the distance learning method, but need some extra support, they can elect to attend this 2-day workshop (rather than the 5-day option) to receive additional guidance on the Assessment units, which can often be the more challenging units of competency. This can be booked in at enrolment, or any time throughout your studies. This is also a suitable option for anyone who doesn’t have the time to spend 5 days in class, but would still like some face to face training.
