TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training & Assessment

This 5-day Face to Face course requires participants to complete self-paced pre and post-course work. The pre-course work includes; self-paced reading, watching recorded tutorials, preparation of your presentations - we recommend enrolling at least 1-2 weeks prior the Face to Face component.

The post-course work has a variety of tasks and activities, these include; short answer questions, case scenarios, research activities, and the completion of presentations.

During the TAE40122 Cert IV Training and Assessment classroom (Face to Face) days, you will complete a variety of assessment activities, and group tasks. You will also complete some tasks that require a VET Trainer/Teacher to act as a lead validator - we include this in our Face to Face delivery method, so that participants aren't required to find their own trainer in order to complete these activities.

The 5-day Workshop gives you the skills and knowledge required to complete the remainder of the Cert IV TAE assessment tasks from home.  All participants will also have access to pre-recorded instructional webinars and pre-recorded tutorials.

What do participants need to provide?
As part of the TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training & Assessment, you are required to deliver 3 presentations to an audience of 4 people, in a face to face setting. You will have to provide/organise the below:

• A group of 4 people to deliver 3 x 30-min face to face presentations to - these participants must be over the age of 15, and the sessions must be recorded

NO work placement required – while other providers may require you to source an RTO for work placement to finalise your assessments, our courses have been specifically designed to eliminate the need for this.

The 5-day Live Virtual course runs similarly to the Face to Face Workshop, but it’s delivered in a virtual class, online via Zoom. The course requires participants to complete self-paced pre and post-course work. The pre-course work to be completed before the 5-day workshop includes, self-paced reading and watching recorded tutorials to gain underpinning knowledge about the VET industry.  We recommend enrolling 2 weeks prior to the Workshop, to allow enough time to have the course materials posted to you, and to get the pre-course work completed.

The post-course studies are made up of a range of assessment tasks and activities, including short answer questions, case scenarios, research activities, and the completion of presentations.

During the Cert IV Training and Assessment (virtual) classroom days, you will complete a variety of assessment activities, and group tasks. The Certificate IV TAE Distance Learning Plus course, gives the participants the flexibility to complete most components of the course from home at their own pace, but with the additional inclusion of a 3-day virtual Workshop, to cover some of the assessment tasks that need a qualified VET Trainer in order to lead the assessment tasks, or need to be recorded.

All Distance Learning Certificate IV TAE40122 participants are supported by pre-recorded lectures and pre-recorded instructional webinars, giving the participants the flexibility to work on their assessments at a time that suits their needs. Participants have up to 12 months to successfully complete their assessments from home.

Participants have up to 12 months to successfully complete their assessments from home.

Refund & Cancellation Policy

Deposits are non-refundable. Once the course is paid in full, no refund will be given for cancellations unless 5 business days’ notice, prior to the Workshop start date, is given (minus a 20% administration fee). Should we need to postpone a course for any reason, every effort will be made to reschedule the course within the following two months. If however, this is not possible, or the rescheduled dates do not suit, participants will be entitled to a full refund.

Refund & Cancellation Policy

Deposits are non-refundable. Once a Distance Learning course is paid in full, and course materials are posted/provided via email, no refunds are given.

The AQF advises what they believe is a good indication of how long different courses should take. These are called the Volume of Learning Indicators, and they suggest that a (full) Certificate 4 level qualification should take between 600 and 1200 hours.

In our experience, every person is different, and so the time it takes one person to complete is different to the next person. This largely depends on each person’s experience, dedication to their studies, and their other personal commitments.

Students will have up to 12 months to complete the TAE40122 course with Success, however students may be able to complete within 6 – 8 months, dependent on their individual schedules and commitment to completing assessment tasks.

Our suggested Volume of Learning for this qualification is 6 months – 18 months (600 – 1800 hours).

To complete the TAE40122 Cert IV in Training & Assessment, tools you’ll need include access to the internet, a computer/laptop/tablet with Microsoft Office, a printer, and a video recording device as simple as an iPhone/smart phone.

The TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training & Assessment has a substantial amount of changes in the unit of competency requirements compared to the previous TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training & Assessment, meaning depending on the delivery method an individual has chosen will determine the resource requirements.

Resources required by individuals based on delivery method

1. Blended 5 day Face to Face 

• A group of 4 people to deliver 1 x 90min face to face presentation session to (cannot include the 1 person form the one-on-one) – These participants must be over the age of 15 and the session must be recorded

2. Blended 5 day live virtual

• 1 person to deliver 1 x 90min face to face one-on-one presentation session to – This participant must be over the age of 15 and the session must be recorded
• A group of 4 people to deliver 1 x 90min face to face presentation session to (cannot include the 1 person form the one-on-one) – These participants must be over the age of 15 and the session must be recorded

3. Distance learning Plus

• 1 person to deliver 1 x 90min face to face one-on-one presentation session to – This participant must be over the age of 15 and the session must be recorded
• A group of 4 people to deliver 1 x 90min face to face presentation session to (cannot include the 1 person form the one-on-one) – These participants must be over the age of 15 and the session must be recorded

4. Distance learning Standard 

• 1 person to deliver 1 x 90min face to face one-on-one presentation session to – This participant must be over the age of 15 and the session must be recorded
• a group of 4 people to deliver 1 x 90min face to face presentation session to (cannot include the 1 person form the one-on-one) – These participants must be over the age of 15 and the session must be recorded
• 3 individuals to complete assessment tasks on – these sessions must be recorded (6 sessions in total, using 3 individuals)
• Access to a VET qualified Teacher, Trainer or Assessor, for lead validation activities – there are a total of 9 validations that this individual must be present for and sit in on the simulated activity as the lead validator.

While we are confident that our students will be able to submit within the 12 month timeframe, and we provide extensive support to assist with this, there are occasions where our student’s personal circumstances may unavoidably cause delays for them. Due to regular updates to our assessment materials, as well as to training packages in general, if we are able to offer an extension, we are only able to extend due dates by 1 month at a time, should you need it. Please note, there is no guarantee that we will be able to offer an extension, but we are more than happy to do so where possible.

There is no fee charged for the first extension given. Any further extensions requested, will incur a re-enrolment fee of between $395 and $595, dependent on whether a complete new set of course materials is required. In some cases, this may mean you will need to re-do parts, or all, of your assessment tasks using the new materials.

We will check in with you regularly, once you have commenced, to make sure you’re progressing. And don’t forget to join (free) as many of our Live Q&A Webinars as you like – these are a great help to many of our students!

While we don’t believe it will be necessary to do so (the 2 qualifications are equivalent, and as long as the Standards don’t change, there is no requirement to do so), it will be possible to upgrade.  Dependent on what units you have completed previously, this would require gap training on 7-8 units, credit transfer for 1-4 units, and completion of 1-3 new units.
