Certificate III is for new guards, and it enables them to apply for the Unarmed and Crowd Control licence without needing to complete the Certificate II in Security Operations. This means that new guards who are currently completing Certificate III do not have to complete Certificate II.
Although there are no entry prerequisites for the course, learners will need to meet a set of qualifications to apply for the Unarmed and Crowd Control Security Licence.
First, applicants must be 18 years old or older.
Second, they must pass an LLN (Language, Literacy, and Numeracy) assessment, which has to be completed before enrolling in the course.
Third, as part of the license application procedure, applicants are required to complete a criminal history inspection.
Fourth, applicants must be Australian citizens, permanent residents, or have the legal and proper permit to work in the security sector in Queensland.
And finally, since there is a considerable amount of writing and reading activities in the course, applicants should have a Level 10 English comprehension, writing, and reading.
Success Training Academy, with its partnership with RTO APS Training Group, offers the Certificate III in Security Operations course to new guards in Cairns, Clontarf and Woolloongabba in Brisbane, and Southport on the Gold Coast. The course will run for ten (10) days, from Monday to Friday for two weeks, and will come with mandatory pre- and post-course work.
