The TAE40122 is the newest training and assessment qualification, released on the 7th of December 2022. While it’s not currently an industry requirement to upgrade the TAE40116 to the newer training and assessment qualification, some employers may set the TAE40122 as a job requirement. Upgrading early is also a great way to complete Vocational professional development and an excellent opportunity to expand your knowledge and skills within the VET sector.

Due to the changes in the TAE22 package, there are only 2 units of competency from the TAE40116 that can be credit transferred from the TAE40116. RAM has created an upgrade pathway combining a mix of theory assessment, practical tasks and gap training, to upgrade those who hold the TAE40116, to the TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

FURTHER DISCOUNTED PRICE FOR PAST RAM/STA STUDENTS: $1095. Pay upfront, by credit card or internet banking.
Payment Plans: Pay your course off over 12 months, interest free. All payment plans incur a $100 set-up fee. On set-up of the payment plan, there is a 20% non-refundable deposit required to confirm your spot in the course, with the remainder of the course fee paid back fortnightly over 12mth. Certificates cannot be issued until full payment has been received. (payment plans can be paid off earlier).

The TAE40116 to TAE40122 Upgrade is only for those who currently hold the full TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training & Assessment qualification, and wish to upgrade - Study with our sister company, RAM Training Services (RTO #: 31701). For those who hold the TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training & Assessment, please reach out to our team on 1300 605 999 to discuss options.
The Intensive 3-Day Live Virtual Upgrade course has pre-course work to complete before attending the 3-day virtual workshop, and post-course work to complete after the 3-day virtual workshop, which participants will have up to 12 months to complete.
Pre-course work is made up of self-paced reading, watching some pre-recorded lectures, gathering some admin documentation.
TAE40116 - TAE40122 Upgrade students must organise the following themselves, (those currently working in the VET instructions as a trainer, my be eligible for RPL - please discuss this with our team):
- 1 person to deliver 1 x 90min face to face, one-on-one presentation session to – this participant must be over the age of 15 and the session must be recorded
- A group of 4 people to deliver 1 x 90min face to face presentation session to (cannot include the 1 person from the one-on-one) – these participants must be over the age of 15 and the session must be recorded

When will I receive my Zoom link for the Live Q&A Webinar?
As the Zoom links aren’t of any practical use, until the time of the webinar, you won’t receive your Zoom link until the day of the webinar.
How long will it take me to complete my course?
The Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) advises what they believe is a good indication of how long different courses should take. These are called the Volume of Learning Indicators, and they suggest that a (full) Certificate 4 level qualification should take between 600 and 1200 hours.
In our experience, every person is different, and so the time it takes one person to complete is different to the next person. This largely depends on each person’s experience, dedication to their studies, and their other personal commitments.
Students will have up to 18 months to complete the TAE40122 course with RAM, however students may be able to complete within 6 – 8 months, depending on their individual schedules and commitment to completing assessment tasks.
Our suggested Volume of Learning for this qualification is 6 months – 18 months (600 – 1800 hours).
What tools and resources will I need for this course?
To complete the Cert IV in Training & Assessment, tools you’ll need include access to the internet, a computer/laptop with Microsoft Office, a printer, and a video recording device as simple as an iPhone.
The TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training & Assessment has a substantial amount of changes in the unit of competency requirements compared to the previous versions of the qualification.

Do you give extensions for assessment deadlines?
While we are confident that our students will be able to submit all of their assessments for the TAE40122 within their allocated timeframe of 18 months, and we provide extensive support to assist with this, there are occasions where our student’s personal circumstances may unavoidably cause delays for them. Due to regular updates to our assessment materials, as well as to training packages in general, if we are able to offer an extension, we are only able to extend due dates by 1 month at a time, should you require it. Please note, there is no guarantee that we will be able to offer an extension, but we are more than happy to do so where possible.
There is no fee charged for the first extension given. Any further extensions requested, will incur a re-enrolment fee of between $395 and $595, dependent on whether a complete new set of course materials is required. In some cases, this may mean you will need to re-do parts, or all, of your assessment tasks using the new materials.
We will check in with you regularly, once you have commenced, to make sure you’re progressing. And don’t forget to join (free) as many of our Live Q&A Webinars as you like – these are a great help to many of our students to facilitate online learning!
What are the entry requirements for the TAE40122?
Those entering this qualification must be able to demonstrate vocational competency in their proposed teaching and assessing area. This is defined as broad industry knowledge and experience, and may include, but is not limited to, holding a relevant unit of competency or qualification. For example, to teach ‘business’ qualifications you will need to have existing skills and prior learning in the industry, such as a business qualification (to at least the level you wish to teach) along with several years of relevant experience working in business.
Can I still upgrade my TAA40104 or BSZ40198 qualification?
Unfortunately not sorry! These versions have both been superseded at least twice now, which means none of the units are equivalent to the TAE40122. You will need to complete the full course.
