Another crucial requirement is the TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
The Certificate IV is a mandatory training course and certification for trainers and assessors looking to take on a career in the VET sector. With the Certificate IV, trainers and assessors can work in Technical and Further Education (TAFEs, which are public institutions) or Registered Training Organisations (also known as RTOs, which are private). TAFEs and RTOs can be found all over the country, which means that anyone looking for work while holding a Certificate IV won’t be lacking in career prospects.
As well, Certificate IV is an ideal qualification to possess when applying for work in corporate settings. The Certificate IV is practical training, the core competencies of which can be used to an office setting with some adaptation.
For example, one of the competencies of the Certificate IV is designing and developing assessment tools (TAEASS502). The course training educates students on methods that can help in the formulation of assessment tools, as well as the skills needed to distinguish whether or not a particular assessment tool applies to the field that the tool is intended to be applied to.
Another core competency is assessing competence (TAEASS402). Assessors should be able to adequately identify the skills and levels of expertise present in potential applicants. The Certificate IV trains its students in identifying these qualities through intensive exercises and discussions.
